IG Kristen Bell | 👋 It’s #FeaturedTeacherFriday 📚❤️and I’d like you all to meet Monica Rodriguez from San Antonio, TX! She’s been teaching for 17 years and her positivity is so encouraging! “I am a first grade teacher at Holy Name Catholic School in San Antonio, Texas.  We are a school with very limited resources but full of amazing, caring teachers who want what's best for our students. Most years we don't have a budget for purchasing materials for our classrooms but we make do.  Since we are a small private school, our salaries are much less than our public counterparts and I do my best to budget and provide what I can for my students. I try to be creative to provide my students with meaningful hands on learning activities that will challenge them and encourage growth.  I love to see them expand their minds and enjoy it so much that they don't consider it to be work.  Their joy and smiles drives me to be the best I can be for them. I have been in the education field for 17 years now and cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. I've taught Pre-K, 1st and 2nd grade now.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with my bachelor's degree in Education/Youth & Community Studies.  On the weekends I teach Spanish to an amazing group of students who strive to be challenged and enhance their learning. This year I'm trying to incorporate flexible seating and technology into my classroom. We have very limited old technology and this gives us the  opportunity to prepare our students for the high tech world, even if it is in small doses. I am beyond grateful!Thank you for supporting teachers! "Teachers don't teach for the income, they teach for the outcome!" Thank you to everyone who reads and feels inspired to check out her wishlist (in my bio) and help! Love you all! ❤️💪🏻📚🧠

@thefashofcon_ 👏🏻💐💐💐
@chernandez1972 I teach in San Antonio too! Keep up the great work Monica! I’ll help you out(as soon as pay day hits) lol. Teacher life, you know how it is. ❤️Thank you @kristenanniebell for supporting us!
@grandmageorge I taught first grade for 35 years and appreciate what you and others do to help young teachers. Thank you for supporting them♥️
@alison_kemp Oh my goodness I am so happy and surprised to see a fellow catholic school teacher here!! We struggle a lot and I hadn’t thought to nominate any of my coworkers for your Featured Teacher Friday because I thought it was limited to public school teachers, the way Donors Choose is. Thank you for featuring this amazing teacher and not putting those limits on!! I can’t donate right now because I’m currently spending literally all my extra $ to get my own classroom going, but I just wanted you to know how much this means to other teachers like us. I hope Ms. Rodriguez gets everything she needs and more!!
@cornerofhappy @kristenanniebell Do you take nominations? I'm a special education teacher who coaches teachers in AZ and I've got a few good recommendations!!!
@tishavarra Sent some planners. Thank you for everything you give to your students each and every day!
@mikylahb @kristenanniebell will you do a school counselor featured day!!! 💕 A lot of people don’t know the role counselors do in schools. Would be a great way to also shed light on mental health in schools. Love all you do! ❤️
@jginisemurray How do I get in the running? I'm a special education teacher in the San Fernando valley and I just happen to adore you as well!! Pick me pick me!!!!
@maggiejmabery Thank you for shouting out teachers who work so hard for their students each and every day!
@tereoch11 😍😘💐So thankful to my teachers they are the reason I’m reading this. 😊

@v3_roni_ca The catholic school teacher gets paid less because most of the paid tuition goes to the Catholic Church diocese. And just like the priests, nuns and nuns in training the school teachers are supposed to selfless and commit themselves to serving the church. But since they are private citizens and not parochial they have a salary, they are Good people just really underpaid for their job. I used to be Catholic but not anymore.
@gcastillo13 Whoohoooo reppin’ San Antonio! ❤️
@realchesco You lost me at Catholic school...

@girley @sandradoh
@thesaroyacollection This is so awesome that you are featuring teachers! 🌺 Why did you decide to feature teachers?
@jlvh0587 The amount of money I just spent this month is insane. Something needs to change. I’m over working a second job just to pay school loans when teacher pay will never increase because our government sucks. Might have to hang it up next year and give up my career that I actually love.
@lclapman These posts are amazing! check out this video produced by Montana students for their retiring teacher Mr Moe #FeaturedTeacherFriday https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/a-special-retirement-message-for-mr-moe-a-beloved-montana-teacher
@4lakegirl You are such a blessing to your students 💯✔️.
@dancingwithmissjenny This is amazing that you do this K Bell Cakes. 😘😘😘😘😘✨👏
@kidsinneed @kristenanniebell, Thank you for supporting teachers. Thank you for helping to get them the school supplies they need, so they can focus on teaching and helping to raise up future leaders.
